Volunteers for Robin Hood

Robin Hood needs you!

In preparation for our upcoming musical spectacular, Robin Hood: Prince of Tease, we are looking for volunteers to help with our fabulous audience experience. Volunteers are vital to the success of local theatre, and we truly couldn’t do it without your contribution to this ambitious artistic endeavour.

The show runs April 28 to May 13, Wednesday to Sunday evenings. We need 4-5 volunteers each night, and we’ll be running a training session (see below) to prepare our volunteer team. If you are interested and available, please read through the following details and email volunteers@toofly.ca.

* Please note that Robin Hood is a burlesque-style show with nudity and mature content, so volunteers must be 18 years of age or older.

Roles

Box Office & Fundraising – Check in guests and sell tickets at the door before the show. Help sell raffle tickets during intermission. Shift: 6:45 to 9:30 pm

Concession – Sell food and beverage, pour alcoholic beverages and hot drinks, clean up the concession area after service. Serving It Right or Special Event Server certification required. Shift: 6:45 to 9:30 pm.

Usher – Help guests find seats before the show. Assist guests who leave during the show. Clean the theatre during intermission and after the show. Shift: 7:20 to 10:30 pm.

Responsibilities

Shifts – Volunteers are asked to commit to a minimum of two shifts, but the more the merrier!. We would prefer you do the same role each shift, but we are flexible if you want variety.

Timing – Please arrive promptly at the start time of your shift for setup. Volunteers will be able to watch the show on the night of their shits if they want, otherwise the lounge has soft seating so you can bring a book or something to keep you occupied during the first act.

Training – We are creating a fabulous guest experience, and to help you all prepare we will be holding a mandatory (aka strongly encouraged) training session in the evening on Thursday April 27 at the theatre. Training will be about half an hour, and then you can stay for the preview show of Robin Hood!

Dress – Please wear black, green and/or blue. We’ll have fun themed accessories to complement.

Appreciation – As a token of gratitude for your commitment, you will receive a comp ticket for every two shifts you work. You will also be invited to our closing night cast and crew party on Saturday May 13 after the final show.
