Volunteers Needed for Little Miss Glitz

Glitz needs you!

In preparation for our upcoming musical spectacular, Little Miss Glitz, we are looking for volunteers to help us pull of an immersive (and fabulous) front of house experience; from the moment our audience steps out of the elevator into the theatre lounge, they will be swimming in glitter and glitz. Volunteers are vital to the success of local theatre, and so it goes without saying that we truly couldn’t do it without your contribution to this ambitious artistic endeavour.

The show runs March 11-26, Wednesday to Sunday each week. We need 4-5 volunteers each night, and we’ll be running a training session (see below) to help you all prepare. If you are interested and available, please read through the following details and then email pronger@gmail.com

Roles

Box Office – Check in guests and sell tickets at the door. We have a new iPad box office app that will make this job easier than ever! Shift: 7:00 to 8:15 pm

Lobby/Elevator – The theatre is on the top floor of the building, so guests have to go up the elevator after they pass the lobby box office. You will get a fob to run the elevators and help get ticketed guests up to the top floor before the show and during intermission. Shift: 7:00 to 9:30 pm.

Usher – Help guests find seats before the show. Assist guests who leave during the show. Keep the theatre clean and pick up garbage after the show. We may also be running a raffle, and the usher will be selling tickets during intermission. Shift: 7:30 to 10:30 pm.

Concession – Sell food and beverage, pour alcoholic beverages and hot drinks, sell merchandise. Serving It Right or Special Event Server certification required. Shift: 6:45 to 9:30 pm.

Responsibilities

Shifts – Volunteers are asked to commit to a minimum of two shifts, but the more the merrier!. I would prefer you do the same role each shift, but I’m flexible if you want variety.

Timing – Please arrive 15 minutes before the start of your shift for setup. Volunteers will not be able to watch the show on the night of their shift, with the exception of ushers. The lounge has comfy furniture, so please bring a book or something to keep you occupied during Act 1.

Training – We are creating a comprehensive guest experience, and to help you all prepare we will be holding a mandatory (aka strongly encouraged) training session in the evening on Thursday March 10, at the theatre. Training will be about half an hour, and then you can stay for the preview show of Little Miss Glitz!

Dress – To match the theme of the show, please wear pink, purple and/or bright blue, and we’ll have fun accessories to complement.

Appreciation – As a token of gratitude for your commitment, you will receive a comp ticket for every two shifts you work. You will also be invited to our closing night cast and crew party on Saturday March 26!

Please email pronger@gmail.com to sign up as a volunteer.

Thank you for your support of Little Miss Glitz and Too Fly Productions!
